چکیده

This study presents a filter system for the removal of pathogenic microorganisms from potable water using silver nanoparticle-modified silica sand. While sand has potential applications in wastewater treatment, its effectiveness microbial filtration falls short. Thus, there is need an environmentally friendly enhancement method. The nanoparticles were synthesized Commelina maculata leaf extracts, and their diameter ranged 50 to 80 nm. Ag NPs immobilized on sand, improving modified sand's physicochemical properties. system, composed NP-modified packed glass column, reliably removed 98% culturable E. coli population water. results suggest that developed use drinking disinfection remote rural areas. However, further cost analysis required before scaling up mass production real-world use.   Key words; Silver nanoparticles, maculate, filtration, treatment.

development of different optical methods for determination of glucose using cadmium telluride quantum dots and silver nanoparticles

a simple, rapid and low-cost scanner spectroscopy method for the glucose determination by utilizing glucose oxidase and cdte/tga quantum dots as chromoionophore has been described. the detection was based on the combination of the glucose enzymatic reaction and the quenching effect of h2o2 on the cdte quantum dots (qds) photoluminescence.in this study glucose was determined by utilizing glucose...

An antimicrobial polycationic sand filter for water disinfection.

A new sand filtration water disinfection technology is developed which relies on the antimicrobial properties of hydrophobic polycations (N-hexylated polyethylenimine) covalently attached to the sand's surface. The efficacy of the filter disinfection process was evaluated both with water spiked with E. coli and with real aqueous effluent from a wastewater treatment plant. For the former, over 7...
